Scripture Power! (Song from Primary!)

I was just reading a talk from conference about the translation of the Holy Bible. A man by the name of William Tyndale was born about the time Columbus sailed to America. He was raised in England and went to school at Oxford and Cambridge. He was fluent in 8 languages and his desire was to translate the Bible into English for the common people. He went to Germany and in seclusion he translated. When he was caught, he was imprisoned for 18 months and then he was strangled and burned at the stake. This made me the think of the many sacrifices that have been made so that Scripture can come forth and bless our lives. I have loved teaching out of the Old Testament this year and am in awe of the many lessons that can be learned from our past that help us in the present!! A friend of mine told me she had never enjoyed religion or going to Sunday School in her church! It surprised me as I love the teachings we have access to and I am so grateful that these things are here for our benefit. I am also grateful for the Book of Mormon and it's testament of Jesus Christ. I hope that I can study them both more earnestly this year!
