Horsin' Around
Too funny! We decided it was time to move our 3 horses over to the pasture so Aspen and Ian went to get them. They didn't have any trouble getting Teton and Treasure to come over, but that left little Twitster (aka Twilight) to get to come over. Keep in mind he is 14 months old and never been in a halter before! It was like Comedy Central Rodeo style! They came to get me to help, so at first I was just sitting in the car. Pretty soon Aspen was sitting in the middle of the corral laughing, I was in the car with tears pouring down my face from laughing and Ian is chasing this teenage horse around the corral. We finally got him cornered and put a halter on him. If we let him think it was HIS idea to go forward he was fine. If he thought we were forcing him, he would dig his heels in and not move an inch! We had to take the fence down because he wouldn't go through the gate. Just as we got him through the fence some yayhoo farmer went by in a tractor and really spooked him. He about took our arms right out of their sockets! Aspen and I both had a lead rope on him and it was a good thing. Sometimes something would spook him and he would jump straight up in the air. Aspen was amazing and held on to him every time! We took him straight across the field instead of on the road as he was so skittish. Once he heard his mom calling him he went straight for the pasture to get to her. (Unlike my teenagers!) Then, we had to use all of our strength to keep him from tearing off towards the pasture. All in all, we had a good laugh but I am pretty sure that one of my arms is now way longer than the other! Good Times!
