I have not blogged in awhile, both my mind and my computer have been on hiatus! I am not sure where the last 6 weeks have gone...with the wind, I guess! We took off for Thanksgiving to California with Scott and I, Aspen & Ian and our two exchange students; Louise and Kadda. We left on Friday night and stayed the night with Grandma & Grandpa in Utah. The following morning got up and travelled on down to L.A. We arrived that evening around 6:30 pm and found our hotel. We stayed put that night and just walked to the nearest restaurant for dinner. The following day, Sunday, we got up and went to church and then drove down to Newport Beach to walk along the ocean. It was beautiful and so relaxing. The kids were pretty good to not get in the water as we u-s-u-a-l-l-y don't swim on the Sabbath. They lasted approximately 2.6 seconds before they were sucked into the water and were jumping the waves. It was the "I'll only go in so far" theory...
Scott and I walked 5 miles up and down the beach. It was not warm, but compared to Idaho it was a heatwave. After playing in the water, we gathered the kids and headed up to Hollywood. We wanted to see Rodeo Drive and Lombard Street ( which I later found out was in San Francisco). We also wanted to find Hollywood Boulevard, so we called on-star( which we named Agnes) and asked for directions. She sent us up into an alleyway that was 90 degrees and lined with trashcans. ( yes rich people have garbage too!) Scott was not impressed and feared for our lives, but our exchange student, Louise thought it was the best part of the vacation! Agnes, our computer, had sent us to the origin of Hollywood Blvd. and we finally wound our way out of the hills and down into the main part of the city. We found the walk of Fame and looked at all of the imprints of the stars hands and feetprint in the cement. The following day we went to "Knott's Berry Farm" and rode the "Woo-Woo" rides!Inside Joke! It was a blast! The rides were so fun and we loved it! Disneyland was different in the fact that it was more magical than thrilling. They were both fun days, with lots of fun memories. Feel free to ask us about: Oh! My! Humph!" "This rain is really wet!" "Louise, that's the wrong direction..." "Mom? W-H-A-T!!" "I can only think about Oprah right now!" "Oh My......" "Yak in the Box doing Yumping Yaks!" Wednesday we took off for Arizona to stay with Erin and Adam and little Noah! It was a fun place to be for Thanksgiving, especially because we got to have Thanksgiving Dinner with Adam's wonderful parents Pat & Lana. They are the best! Not to mention that Lana is an excellent cook! We are grateful for their hospitality! We also were able to go to the Mesa Temple and see the beautiful Christmas lights. It was stunning! It was a wonderful start to the Christmas Season and a fun holiday to remember for years to come!
