The first weekend in December I took a trip with three of my girlfriends to go down to Salt Lake! My close friends Eleanor and Andrea and I have a friend Kay, whose husband had recently passed away so we decided it would be good to take her away for a weekend. Friday night, Kay had called Eleanor and said that she couldn't go because her brother-in-law was ill and she didn't want to leave her sister alone. So, we stopped over at her house to drop something off, and Eleanor starts beating on her door and yelling "Kay, we know you are in there!!" (You have to know this little 5 foot tall tornado!) I, in the meantime, am looking around to see which neighbor is going to call the police first!! Kay finally opens the door-she was in the shower at the time and was getting ready to make herself some pancakes. Eleanor proceeds to tell her to get packed and get her hair done because we are not leaving without her! To my amazement, Kay listened to her. (While she was getting ready we ate her pancakes-yummy! I'm going to post the recipe later!) Oh My Word! I never thought I could laugh that hard and that long as we all did that weekend. It was just a perfect balance of personalities (odd ones at that) with each person adding their own unique sense of humor. We went to the Hale Theatre and watched "The Christmas Carol", shopped, hit the Maddox and the Macaroni Grill and talked till 2:00 am! UGH! The following day was Sunday so we spent time on Temple Square just talking, laughing and we even did a little crying! We have all decided to make it a quarterly activity! It was a blast and how grateful I am for good friends with whom you can laugh and sometimes even cry!
